Every year at this time I find it necessary to post this. Unfortunately this year is no different. It makes me sad that there are people out there that would take advantage of kind hearts during the holidays and in times of need. If you’re considering making any sort of donation this Christmas and Holiday Season please do so BUT do so with those groups or organizations who have visibility and transparency. In other words, give to those people or organizations with a public identity and a documented track record of providing for those that are in need. They in turn will make sure that those who need help the most will get it. At the same time, keep in mind that most local, small charities exist on small to non-existent budgets. When people take advantage of those small donation driven charities that work very hard to provide, especially during the holidays, for those truly in need it hurts the families and children that need the help the most.
