Last year we posted how the one and only major fundraiser conducted by the Hunger Foundation Of Southern Ocean had to be canceled due to virus concerns. This year brings a repeat with the Annual Gala still on hold. The Hunger Foundation of Southern Ocean is a local, all-volunteer, non-profit organization with a mission to support local food banks. Since 1995, the Foundation has raised nearly 2 Million Dollars – which they have generously donated to local food pantries to assist the hundreds and hundreds of families in need in Southern Ocean County. The Lacey Food Bank has been fortunate and blessed to count itself among the beneficiaries of this organization. So you can imagine our surprise when a check for $11,000.00 was gifted to us along with 2 overflowing shopping carts of food staples this year. This donation was the result of a successful fundraising and awareness campaign along with an ongoing 50/50 raffle and many individual donations to the Hunger Foundation. The generous proceeds from their efforts were shared with us and with other food banks in our area. Especially now, we at the Lacey Food Bank are grateful and overwhelmed by the continued support and encouragement we have received from them.
