Just 1 day ago I posted on my personal page how our Food Bank Veggie Garden “The Garden of Hope”, the Eagle Scout Project of Kyle Wollman, had suffered from neglect during the pandemic. With limited volunteers during those early days of covid, gardening was forced to take a back seat on the list of priorities. And then suddenly it was Spring’22 and the Garden of Hope was looking pretty forlorn. With only hand tools, we were literally stuck in the weeds and we realized it would take forever to get all the overgrowth under control. And so we did what we so often do, we turned to our community for help. We needed, I wrote, a used weed whacker donation to whack our way through the jungle that had taken the garden hostage. It didn’t take 2 hours for Jeff Ascough of Shore Green Landscape & Design, LLC to come forward – not with a used whacker but with a donation of a brand new weed whacker!! No stranger to the Lacey Food Bank, Jeff has more than once helped us reach a goal!! Thank You Jeff for this very generous donation of a brand new weed whacker. Our volunteer gardeners can’t wait to start using it! #GardenOfHope
