Heading BACK2SCHOOL after the long summer vacation can be tough on parents and students alike. For many of our parents, the added expense of buying Back to School supplies can be overwhelming. Between backpacks and supplies, even the most basic of Back2School shopping can run upwards of $60.00+ a child. The Lacey Food Bank Kids Volunteers makes every effort to help defray these costs by providing our registered client children ages 7 – 16 with some of the basic school supplies. With the changes we have had to make because of Covid and social constraints, this year we will be providing a hard case pencil box to each registered child (ages 7 – 16 and enrolled in Lacey Schools) containing the items listed on this Wish List. In addition, they will receive a Gift Card for the purchase of a new backpack or additional supplies. In the past, we have always offered a TakeMe Table of family-size PB&J. This year instead of the pb&j, we will include a ShopRite gift card to help Mom defray the cost of that first week of the Back2School Hungries! If you can help with any of the items listed on this Wish List or with a monetary donation, we would be so grateful. Checks toward this event can be made payable to the Lacey Food Bank and please, please note in the memo area “LFBKIDS Back2School”. We ask that all donations – marked to the attention of Laura/LFBKids – be in by August 10th. Any questions, please reach out to me here or by calling the Food Bank.
Our goal this year, as every year, is to provide our LFBKids with the opportunity to Start Smart by having the supplies they need for school. With your help, we can do it again this year!
