Scouting for Food is a project that is undertaken every November – just as the weather begins to chill and our thoughts turn to being able to put enough food on our client’s tables for the holidays. On Saturday our Lacey Boy Scouts set out to complete the task that they set in motion a week ago. And our neighbors in Lacey Township did not disappoint!! ! It took 5 food bank storekeepers more than 5 hours to sort the 261 bags of groceries collected by Cub Scout Pack 35 and Pack 156 during this year’s Scouting for Food event. The Lacey Food Bank is proud to be partnered with the Lacey Boy Scouts for this project and so many other individual troop projects throughout the year. Thank You Scouts and Thank You to the Parents & Scout Leaders, Our Own Volunteers, and our Lacey Community who turned out and made this day a huge success. Please note…..There are more than 12,000 Households in Lacey Township. And just 2 Cub Scout Packs. Our Scouts and their Leaders and Parents do their very best to cover as many streets and as many houses as they can. If you didn’t get a bag you can always drop your donation off at the Food Bank Mon-Sat from 10AM-Noon.
