Yesterday I met with an exceptional group of caring citizens….. again….but for the first time. Intrigued? No strangers to doing good right where they live, the New SEA BREEZE CARES CLUB members kicked off their inaugural first good deed by providing all – and I do mean ALL – the goodies to fill the Easter baskets and bags of the children served by the Lacey Food Bank. With more than 50 members in attendance at this first monthly social, I watched as the donation box filled and overflowed with donations of sweets and basket supplies. Mrs. Judy Hovey, the current Chair, explained that while they may have a new name, their commitment to doing good right here in our Lacey community has not changed. For the Lacey Food Bank and the Lacey Food Bank Kids, the residents of Sea Breeze have always been among those whose contributions and support have meant so much to us and to the families we serve. So it came as no surprise when Sea Breeze resident, and LFBKids Volunteer, Kathy Verdicchio let us know that the LFBKIds had been chosen as their Springtime community project! Many thanks to the members who greeted me so warmly, allowed me an opportunity to speak, and gifted us, not only with sweets and continuing friendship but with a most generous donation of $475.00 to be used to offset any additional costs the LFBKids might incur too! Thank You Sea Breeze Cares Club for everything you do! #LFBKids #SeaBreezeCaresClub (Pictured Barbara Banach, Rich Fela, Linda Marino, Judy Hovey, Arlene Desarno, and Charlotte Martyn )
