The Lacey Food Bank and the Lacey Food Bank Kids lost a friend and volunteer yesterday with the passing of Judith (Judy) Keene. Judy was one of our original phone girls. Long before the Internet and up-to-the-minute computer technology, Judy would call each and every client every month to remind them of the upcoming food distribution or LFBKids event. A sometimes thankless and frustrating job, she nonetheless was so persistent that soon most of our clients started to look forward to her monthly check-ins. Our sincere sympathy to her children and extended family. Life, they say, is a gift, and the way you live it is your gift to others. Thank You Judy Smalts Keene for the many gifts you gave us.
