Lacey Boy Scouts Food Drive

November 10, 2019 / laceyfoodbank / 2019 News

It was freezing cold this morning but that didn’t stop our Lacey Boy Scouts from completing the task that they set in motion last Saturday. Today was the pickup day for the Scouting for Food project that is undertaken every year just as the weather chills and the need for food increases at the Lacey Food Bank. One of the Promises a Boy Scout makes is to help other people. A cheery smile and a helping hand goes far in making life easier for others. Doing a Good Turn daily and helping where and when needed proves that Scouting helps to make this a better world. The Lacey Food Bank is proud to be partnered with the Lacey Boy Scouts with this project and so many other individual troop projects throughout the year. Pictured here are just some of the Scouts who participated today. Thank You & Good Job Scouts!!!

~ Laura Caroccia

Nationwide the Scouts of America collected bags of food from participating households and descended on the Lacey Food Bank with bags of pantry food for their clients – over 400 + bags and more coming. Just in time to replenish the woefully low stores at hand.

We extend our thanks to all the scouts & parents, the generous homeowners for their donations and our wonderful volunteers who stayed all day to receive and shelve or box the bounty.

This puts the Food Bank better able to get through the holidays.
Happy Thanksgiving and Christmas to all
