Lidl, an active participant in the Feeding America network and with a corporate policy of being socially responsible to the community they serve, has begun partnering with the Lacey Food Bank. To reduce waste and food insecurity in our community they have begun donating overstocks to us. Knowing of our small, volunteer-run Garden of Hope, Lidl also gifted us with pots of fresh basil plants – enough for our garden and for a few of our clients’ victory gardens too!! Since launching its first stores in the USA in 2017, Lidl’s has provided more than 4 million pounds of food to Feeding America affiliated food banks.
