This morning, we met with Will Ferguson, Manager, of the Lanoka Harbor Walmart to receive a Walmart Community Grant in the amount of $1,000.00 that will go toward offsetting some of the costs of our Summer Safety and our Back2School purchases. The Walmart Community Grant Program is funded by the Walmart Foundation and is awarded to qualifying organizations directly from the local Walmart facilities to the local organization. Most of you know that the LFBKids receive no funding from the Lacey Food Bank. That means that everything we do for our Client Kids must come from the generous donations specifically earmarked for the LFBKids or through fundraising and community grants. The Lanoka Harbor WalMart and the Lacey Food Bank Kids have been Community Partners since the store opening in October 2009. Since that time WalMart has supported the Lacey Food Bank Kids, our mission and our projects, through local participation, grants, and direct donations. Pictured here with Store Manager William Ferguson are LFBKids Volunteers Rosa Steitz and Debbie DeAnnuntis Candeletti, And Yes, we immediately went shopping and spent a good portion of this very generous grant on some of the Summer Safety Items we will be distributed to our client families at the regular June Distribution. Thank You to Walmart, Manager William Ferguson, and all the Walmart Associates who help us help the youngest of our Lacey community! #lfbkids #walmart #summersafety #thankyou
