Thank You Lacey Township for stepping up and stepping forward to make this upcoming Memorial Day/Summer Kickoff Weekend a success. This holiday project, initiated by Lacey Food Bank’s Community Coordinator Donna McAvoy, went above and beyond any and all of our expectations! Laundry size baskets of picnic and backyard favorites were distributed to each family by Donna and Co-Chair Harold (Pete) Peters. And in keeping with the true meaning of the holiday, each family also received a Flag to display on Memorial Day! As has been our quarantine distribution custom, in addition to our regular monthly food, racks, and racks of ‘Take-Me” food and household supply offerings were also available for our clients. We at the Lacey Food Bank are grateful and indebted to the members of our community who have stepped up and provided us with everything we could have needed to get through this trying and long year. Thank You to our extraordinary Corps of Volunteers who, regardless of the weather, make every outdoor distribution day flawless. Thank You Lacey Township – our schools, our businesses, our community organizations, our citizens – for your continued support of our mission to make sure that no person living in Lacey ever, ever has to go hungry. We are #LaceyStrong and #LaceyProud Happy Summer!
