The ‘troops’ – the Boy Scout Troops that is – were out bright and early Saturday morning completing the task that they set in motion a week ago. It was pickup day for the Scouting for Food project that is undertaken every year just as the weather chills and the need for food increases at the Lacey Food Bank. One of the Promises a Boy Scout makes is to help other people. And this year a lot of people will be helped by the 352 bags of food collected in this once-a-year community service project!! To say that this undertaking is a lifelong Scout commitment wouldn’t be an exaggeration. Just ask Jack from Troop 156 out of the Elks who marked his 26th year of Scouting for Food!!
The Lacey Food Bank is proud to be partnered with the Lacey Boy Scouts for this project and so many other individual troop projects throughout the year. Pictured here are just some of the Scouts who participated today. Thank You & Good Job Scouts and Leaders and Parents and our LFB Saturday Volunteers!
